Holidays With Mom and Dad
Going home for the holidays—I always was glad To travel the highways to see mom and dad. They were happy to see me I could tell from their smile, And pleased that I safely had traveled each mile. They stood in the doorway and
welcomed me in,
Each hour passed by quickly and
never was slow,

Resent
Mission Trip -- February
8-20
The resent mission trip to three locations in Colombia went well. The people
are friendly and favorably inclined toward US, which means us who
worked there for almost 2 weeks. Included were Carolyn Windham, Mario Pinzon,
preacher at Chia and Jair (?) who is preaching at the new congregation
in Zipa. Claudia and Mario's mother helped. Mario organized the work for
all three locations.
Thesecongregations
are about a 30 to 50 minute drive from Bogota.
The daytime temperatures were warmer than usual, but at night a jacket
felt good. Because of the elevation I had some difficulty breathing, but
not like my first trip.
Work in Chia
We arrived in Bogota around 10:40 PM (Little Rock time 9:40 PM). I left
LR 7:10 AM so I could stop by Atlanta to see Stan Mitchell, dentist, to
have my teeth cleaned and examined. All was good. I enjoyed the visit and
buffet lunch with Stan. Carolyn from Binghamton met me at Atlanta from
which we flew to Bogota. Mario picked us up at the Bogota airport and took
us to Chia, where we got to
bed somewhat
after 1:00 AM. We had some day studies that day and I spoke to a group
at night. The next three nights I spoke on the theme for Chia and the other
three places. Jesus wants to be your friend, Savior, and King. We
had day studies. I was told 47 attended Sunday morning.
On Sunday afternoon we had a great children's program to which 90 children
and 25 parents came. Claudia who has worked with us before came from Bogota
to help. The adults had good questions and comments after my lesson. Two
of them may be good contacts.
Work in Fuza
A young man, Lenin, had come two months earlier to preach and labor in
Fuza. Two have been baptized since he came. He has no outside support,
but he has a room where the church meets and the church supplies his food.
His means of transportation is a bicycle. He is good for the work in Fuza.
We had no children's program, but for three day time home studies, and
I spoke evenings. Around 15
attend
Sundays. The congregation has some good members and Lenin is doing a good
work.
Work in Zipa
The Zipa work began in Autumn last year. Jair left his business in Colombia
so he could work for the Lord. The work has been slow, but the potential
is great. 40 children came to the children's program along with 15 parents.
Some of them may be good contacts for Jair.
Pray for the Work and Workers
Each of these cities have 200,000+. Catholicism, is strong in these cities.
They have schools for the children. Mario has a good work in a rehab center
where he has baptized the owner and five who attend. She will continue
to study.
Future Plans
Jimmy Pinzon, Mario's brother older who is one of the ministers in Peoria,
AZ plans to bring a team of workers in June. I have plans for a mission
trip in August. We plan to work in Neiva as well as two other locations
this trip.
