Thanks to God
 For His indescribable
   Gift.  2 Cor. 9:15

My Greatest Thanks

For all I have and all I own
And all the things so dear to me,
I do not give my deepest thanks
As for the things I cannot see.

For all the things I have and hold
Will one day be no longer here,
So can't compare with smiles of joy
That fill my heart and soul with cheer.

For friendship's love and kindly thoughts
All shared with me when friends are near
Will linger long within my heart
When giv'n to me from those so dear.

But most of all and best of all,
I give my thanks to God above
For all His great and gracious gifts
He gives from His enduring love.

  HAPPIEST OF THANKSGIVING TO ALL

IIf anyone loves Me, he will keep my word, and My Father will love him,  and We will come to him  and make Our home with Him   --John 14:23

God's Sacred Place

The sacred place for us today
Is not the place where Jesus lay
Within the manger sound asleep
In straw made bed both warm and deep.

The place is not a house of stone,
Nor is an earthly gold made throne,
And may not be the house that where
The Christians often bow in prayer.

The place is not in temples here
For Jesus can be always near
Without the things that men have made
With all the many bricks they've laid.

A place is sacred when it starts
Within the depth of human hearts,
Where God is found and all is well
Where Jesus Christ is asked to dwell.

So take the time for in the pace
Which often in earth's hectic race
We do not find God's loving grace
That's found within His sacred place.

The True Light

May all of the joy of the holiday cheer
Still live in your heart every day of the year.
May all of the lights around Christmas trees curled
Not make your eyes blind to the Light of the world.

For Jesus the Light that helps all who would see
Is greater by far than the lights on a tree.
He is the true Light that to Bethlehem came.
Our thanks be to God for His glorious name.

He is the true Light shining gracious and free,
Which brightly is shining for you and for me.
So walk in His light as your guide the whole year,
And not just on Christmas because it is here.

Thanks Giving

Thanks giving is those kindly thoughts
we feel toward all we see,
We learn them from the Savior's love
He gave to you and me.

Thanks giving is the way we speak
    to help a weary heart,
That gives them courage that they need
to make a brand new start.

Thanks giving is the deeds we do
    to share another's load,
As they are bowed in deep despair
    upon life's toilsome road.

Thanks giving gives us loving friends.
by what we say and do,
That helps them find their way to Him
who is so good and true.

And so through life the way we live
in all we do and say,
Expressed from humble, thankful hearts
    will show God' perfect way.

Walk Your Talk

You cannot teach the way to walk
Unless you learn to walk your talk.
For you must live from day to day
To illustrate the things you say.

Be careful of the things you do
For other folks are watching you.
Your goal to help them serve the Lord
Is reached by living by His word.

So you must study God's own word,
That's written by the ones who heard,
Then those you teach may never stray
From God's straight path, His chosen way.

The pattern Jesus came to give
Can show them how they ought to live.
But they'll not turn from what is worst
Until they learn to put Him first.

His footsteps, when you follow Him,
Will show the path when days are dim.
He is the way in darkest night
That lights the path with His bright light.

  Holidays With Mom and Dad
Going home for the holidays—I always was glad
To travel the highways to see mom and dad.
They were happy to see me I could tell from their smile,
And pleased that I safely had traveled each mile.

They stood in the doorway and welcomed me in,
And asked many questions of how I had been.
They both had grown older, their hair was more gray,
The passing of time slowly turned it that way.
The joy in my heart, on my face a big grin,
Made them know I was happy to be home again.
We shared precious moments each hour I was there.
I'd rather be with them than others elsewhere.

Each hour passed by quickly and never was slow,
And when they were over, I regretted to go,
But I knew even then at the time to depart,
I'd treasure fond memories down deep in my heart.
With the passing of time, I've always been glad
That I traveled each holiday to see mom and dad.
If I could live my life over, all the time that I had
I'd spend every holiday with my mom and dad.

New Year Evaluation

The New Year's coming, it is here,
And then it's past and gone.
Just as the life, the life you have,
Began as comes the dawn.

You go from morn to noon, and then
You go from noon to night.
The time you have, it goes so fast,
Like arrows in their flight.

So take the time to view your life,
Because you have but one.
Will you be pleased with how you've lived,
When your short life is done?

If even now you are not pleased
And want to make it new;
Then give your life to Jesus Christ
He'll make it new for you.

Resent Mission Trip -- February
8-20

The resent mission trip to three locations in Colombia went well. The people  are  friendly and favorably inclined toward US, which means us who worked there for almost 2 weeks. Included were Carolyn Windham, Mario Pinzon, preacher at Chia and Jair (?) who is preaching at the new congregation in Zipa. Claudia and Mario's mother helped. Mario organized the work for all three locations.
Thesecongregations are about a 30 to 50 minute drive from Bogota.
The daytime temperatures were warmer than usual, but at night a jacket felt good. Because of the elevation I had some difficulty breathing, but not like my first trip.

                                                        Work in Chia
We arrived in Bogota around 10:40 PM (Little Rock time 9:40 PM). I left LR 7:10 AM so I could stop by Atlanta to see Stan Mitchell, dentist, to have my teeth cleaned and examined. All was good. I enjoyed the visit and buffet lunch with Stan. Carolyn from Binghamton met me at Atlanta from which we flew to Bogota. Mario picked us up at the Bogota airport and took us to Chia, where we got to
bed somewhat after 1:00 AM. We had some day studies that day and I spoke to a group at night. The next three nights I spoke on the theme for Chia and the other three places.  Jesus wants to be your friend, Savior, and King. We had day studies. I was told 47  attended Sunday morning.
On Sunday afternoon we had a great children's program to which 90 children and 25 parents came. Claudia who has worked with us before came from Bogota to help. The adults had good questions and comments after my lesson. Two of  them may be good contacts.

                                                         Work in Fuza
A young man, Lenin, had come two months earlier to preach and labor in Fuza. Two have been baptized since he came. He has no outside support, but he has a room where the church meets and the church supplies his food. His means of transportation is a bicycle. He is good for the work in Fuza. We had no children's program, but for three day time home studies, and I spoke evenings.  Around 15
attend Sundays. The congregation has some good members and Lenin is doing a good work.

                                                        Work in Zipa
The Zipa work began in Autumn last year. Jair left his business in Colombia so he could work for the Lord. The work has been slow, but the potential is great. 40 children came to the children's program along with 15 parents. Some of them may be good contacts for Jair.
Pray for the Work and Workers
Each of these cities have 200,000+. Catholicism, is strong in these cities. They have schools for the children. Mario has a good work in a rehab center where he has baptized the owner and five who attend. She will continue to study.

                                                         Future Plans
Jimmy Pinzon, Mario's brother older who is one of the ministers in Peoria, AZ  plans to bring a team of workers in June. I have plans for a mission trip in August. We plan to work in Neiva as well as two other locations this trip.
